Grade 3
PrintGrade 3 adds Number and Operations in Fractions to the familiar domains of Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations in Base Ten, Measurement and Data, and Geometry. Multiplication and division are the dominant new operations: students learn their facts, understand area as tiled arrays, and solve two-step word problems. Fractions are introduced as numbers on a number line, and students partition shapes into equal parts.
