We’re deeply committed to creating a safe and secure online environment for you.
The only information we collect about your students pertains to their performance solving math problems, and when we do collect, we protect it with world-class security practices.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and will not disclose this information to anyone but authorized school personnel unless expressly authorized.
We strive to provide you with access to and control over the information you give us, including the option to delete information collected on students.
It is in recognition of the need for security, and our commitment to FERPA, COPPA and EU GDPR, that Goblins has established this Privacy Policy.
Collection of information
We collect information in the following ways, depending on your use of the Service and your account settings:
We collect students’ names when they access an assignment in the app. This serves as the ID for a non-permanent profile with which performance information related to that given assignment is stored. It may be a pseudonym, if you allow it.
We collect performance information including the content of conversations held in the app, which we use to provide students the in-app experience. We also use this information to infer how often students struggle with which problems, which we store so that we can share it with you.
We collect some information automatically, such as information about the devices students use to access the Service, date and time stamps of sessions, duration of sessions, and features used during sessions.

Goblins collects the minimum required personal information.
Goblins collects only the personal information required to operate its classroom web apps, software and services. It does not access browser history, contact lists, search terms, preferences, device identification, location, etc. unless directly related to providing the service.
Goblins does not condition a child's participation in any activity on the child disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in such activity.
All interactions with the Goblins website or app produce metadata that may identify you or could be identifiable information when paired with other information about you. In every case, Goblins strives to collect only the minimum necessary information from you as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor's interaction with Goblins or that is required by law. Visitors to the Goblins website or app may always refuse to supply personally identifying information.
Use of information
Goblins uses information collected for the purposes of:
providing the Service
personalizing your experience
communicating with you about your account and our Service (including responding to inquiries and sharing information about new features and offerings that may be of interest)
understanding and improving our Service, and developing new or improved educational offerings

Goblins takes great care to protect the personal information you provide to us. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We may also disclose de-identified or aggregated information that does not reasonably identify any individual.
No Sponsorship or Advertising
We do not permit third parties to sponsor content displayed on our Service. We take steps to avoid the collection of information for targeted advertising purposes.
Additional Privacy Rights
In accordance with applicable privacy law, and depending upon the jurisdiction in which you reside, you may have the right to request to access, correct or delete your Personal Information or to request to opt-out of certain types of data practices. Please note that if you are a student who accesses the Services through a School, or the student’s parent or legal guardian, you must contact your School to submit a request to access, modify or delete your Personal Information. Security of your personal information

We encrypt your personal information when it is stored at rest

Changes to this Privacy Policy
Goblins may modify or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Goblins will notify users of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the revised Privacy Policy with an updated date of revision on our Service. If we change this Policy in a material manner, we will do our best to notify you of the changes by posting a notice on our website before those changes take affect. We recommend that you review the Privacy Policy each time you visit the Service to stay informed of our privacy practices.
We will not make any material changes to our Privacy Policy that relate to the collection or use of Student Personal Data without first giving notice to the School and providing a choice before Student Personal Data are used in a materially different manner than was disclosed when the information was collected.
