Grade 1 covers four domains: algebra, data, geometry, and number. The number strand anchors the year, with students working on subitizing, place value within 100, and addition and subtraction strategies. Shapes, data collection with tally charts and graphs, and early equation reasoning fill out the remaining domains.

1.AALGEBRA: Students will solve problems and reason with algebra using multiple representations, make connections within math and across disciplines, and communicate their ideas.1.DDATA: Students will solve problems and reason with data/probability using multiple representations, make connections within math and across disciplines, and communicate their ideas.1.GGEOMETRY: Students will solve problems and reason with geometry using multiple representations, make connections within math and across disciplines, and communicate their ideas.1.NNUMBER: Students will solve problems and reason with number concepts using multiple representations, make connections within math and across disciplines, and communicate their ideas.
Example Problems
