Grade 5 in 2022 MN standards spans three strands: Data and Probability introduces measures of center and variability, data display comparison, and experimental probability with frequency tables; Spatial Reasoning covers area formulas for triangles and parallelograms, volume concepts and formulas for rectangular prisms, and classification of three-dimensional figures and their nets; Patterns and Relationships addresses multi-digit multiplication and division, equivalent fractions and decimals, operations with fractions and decimals, fraction multiplication and division models, financial literacy, equivalent expressions, and coordinate graphing with pattern relationships.
