Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, expanded form, and unit form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, <, =, and ≠ symbols to record the results of comparisons. (Note: Students should demonstrate understanding and application of place value decomposition. For example, 127 can be 1 hundred, 2 tens, 7 ones or 12 tens, 7 ones. Refer to 2.NBT.1)
